I Remember How
It's surprising when you realize you haven't taken photos in so long. There is a strange doubt that occurs, as if you aren't sure how to function. Well that has been me for a couple of months, detached and oddly showing a disinterest. I always know when I leave my raw images to melt away. I leave them on my camera or import them two weeks later. It's a horrifying and strangely satisfying occurrence. Because even though you enjoy the process, the fear of having nothing to show adds up day by day.
Well I finally have done the the deed, sifted through the files upon files of untouched images.
We went to a Rock Festival in Pretoria recently, well last week. This is one of the shots that makes me feel like I can shoot live photography for a long time to come. Maybe I needed the break, or maybe it was the VIP liquor that stirred my vision. Either way, I'm back and will be uploading as the days go by.

Seether - Live in JHB
So I was very excited to see Seether, go to a concert again and join the pit mice. It was manic to say the least, I couldnt belive how there were more security than photographers for the opening acts.
In the end it was the usual, hit the channesls and stick it out for the first 3 songs. Sadly the lighting for half of Seethers gig was wanting, but hey big boys dont cry and drink milk.
So Here's a taster - full images on Futurespace.co.za I will upload more as I get a chance!

Told you I would
So a while back I went through to the Kruger, and this sparked the need to escape, in its full and cliche form. Now as beautiful and amazing the open spaces are, and in turn what they offer, I have realized something. The change is an isolated reflection, thus I have found myself stilled in my photographic journey, I have no fruits to bear, and nothing to revel in.
Amazing this, now as I finally post this, I wonder, I've always wondered around photo's, in various ways - ideas and the sort. They have in-fact been bottled, for what some may say writers block.
Well here are images from that trip - The trip that may be the release of a new season of work.
Captured below is Clem and his girlfriend Lex - With Bronchitis - We will look back on this and remember what it means to have great friends.

Rise of the machines
Now for those of you who care, or just dont know.
I work for an architectural firm by day, yes a big boy in a corporate world. Very odd, sometimes I question myself, ha ha. No kidding. So one of my projects is dealing with Barloworld Equipment. The giant caterpillar trucks that you see, yes those. They make those.
Apparently one of the mines ordered 8 big Cat Machines, each in the region on 7-9 Million.
What Am I doing, hmmm, well hopefully trying t improve things.
Here are some images.
More will follow!

Morning Mourning
Crisis I'm not 18 anymore
We can all remember the time in school, waiting aching, for our time. The longing for more, the ideas of freedom, ideas we didnt even fully understand. Everything was one dimensional, what you saw, is what you believed, argued and fought for. Life moves on and as time moves to your side of the argument, you start to realize how simple most people were in school, but better yet how simple you may have been.
No saying that it was lack luster, just saying I'm feeling old okay.
Anyways, so Michelle, my girlfriends younger sister had her Matric Dance. Yes, I know, we all had super bad memories of this night. So she took Ninja Steve as here date, and then after all the photo's asked if I could take here in my pimping ride.
Now for those of you that know Lola ( My dirty dirty little citi golf) You know that it's just not that pimping - ha ha and here lay the sweet irony.
Well at least the kids had a sense of humour.
The trip home
Ah, man it's been so long since a post, but it always brings about some joy. Whne you look back on imported images, and smile. So the following posts are late, but important none the less.
From the Kruger/Hazeyview we went via Long Tom pass, a scenic route, ah man, I cant explain how I enjoy driving in the open. It was the perfect end to a long weekend!

Kruger Park
I went to the Kruger Park last week to go see my Dad. Happiest weekend in ages. So part of the trip was venturing into the 'wild" and scouting for animals. We spent most of the day sifting through golden wilderness, mused and content, yet with not much in the way of wildlife. Then, we spotted a Leopard, crouched and on the hunt. Although no blood and gore followed, the Leopard, did show itself in full, amazing. This is a start of many more trips into the peaceful spaces that surround the concrete jungle i choose to live in.

Tea in the garden
This photograph is of my grandmother. I love the old folks to bits, and should see them more often. they came past a while ago for some tea and cake, with a side of the usual. I've looking at new types of images i wish to create, this is a step in a different direction, but either way I love this image and the wall of light that was captured. it depicts a true sense of her.
